@sqiddster

Yeah, I was just wondering how you did the transition thing when you press start, it sort of animates you down to the levels page. Also, how did you lock levels? I would like to know for certain reasons. Is it a plugin, webstorage, or something else?

You can PM me for any more questions so we don't spam the comments ;)

But in answer to what you said, there is a 'camera' object with the scroll-to behavior. The menu is one giant layout with numerous 'zones' placed around at different angles. When a button is pressed, a camera-destination is set and it lerps and anglelerps to the specified camera_zone.

I use webstorage to test if a button is locked or not. Basically you tell if the level of a button is under or over the level that the player has unlocked.

To Sqiddster:
Please upload a .capx. I have the same lack of organization so that wouldn't hinder me. Also, I like to reverse engineer most great games that I find, so that my skills increase. Is there any chance of this happening? Thanks, progmas

@progmas,

I am sorry, but this game still might be used for other things, so I prefer to keep the capx private. Feel free to PM me any specific questions. If you want to know how the gravity works, check out my tutorial: how to make a gravity-based platform game.

wow perfectly executed love the art and the menu is good rather to most other where you just press buttons professionally done in my opinion and very addicting 10 orange octopuses out of ten orange octopuses

I have not played vary many rotary based games. Even so I still believe that this game is an achievement. I agree with Spirantula, the sounds of the little octopus are delightfully disgusting :). The level designs are never repeats and are quite interesting to look at. The interface is simple and the fade in when you move the mouse is an amazing effect (I admit I spent 4 minutes just passing my mouse over the screen to see the menu fade in and out...). The art style of the game is the classical green grass and blue sky which is both simple yet aesthetically pleasing the overall feel of the game is quite relaxing. The music of the game is wonderfully done and pairs seamlessly to the gameplay. A very pleasant game to play! 5 stars!
