As promised, we’re launching a new official competition today! The theme of the competition is “Rotation”. Construct 2 allows you to rotate the layout, or individual layers, with the 'Rotate layout' and 'Rotate layer' system actions, so the aim is to build a game around these features. We have some great prizes as well to give to the winners.

This demo is available in Construct 2. On the start screen press “Browse all examples” and open up the “Rotating Platform” demo. Note your competition entry does not have to be a platform game - you can make any genre of game, so long as the gameplay relies on rotation. However, if you do go for a platformer, you will probably also find its 'Set gravity angle' action useful. We can't wait to see people's ideas and as always any especially innovative uses of rotation will gain favour with the judges!

Rules
- Up to 3 games per user
- Every game must make use of the system 'Rotate layer' or 'Rotate layout' actions. It must be an important feature of the gameplay and not just added on as an afterthought.
- If for various reasons prizes cannot be shipped to the winners of the competition (unsupported delivery destination/out of stock etc), something of similar value will be given to the winners
- We are not responsible for any damage/injury/liability caused by any of the prizes. If you are under 18 years old, you must seek explicit permission from your parents before using any of the prizes.
- Closing date is February 29th, 2012 at 12 noon GMT+0
- These rules may change/have additions before the closing date
- As before, teams are allowed. However prizes can only be delivered to one address. We will not get involved with splitting/distributing prizes between team members, that's up to you to sort out
- The judge's decision is final
Submitting Games
All entries must be submitted to the arcade. This means you are also limited to the arcade-compatible plugins and behaviors (that's all the official ones minus AJAX, Browser, Facebook and WebStorage, and no third-party unfortunately). We have created a new arcade category, ‘Rotary’. You can upload up to three games into that category. Feel free to update those games as many times as you want to up until the closing date of the competition.
Judging
Me and Ashley will be judging all the entries, like the previous competition.
Users Choice Trophy
The user's choice award will go to the entry with the highest weighted vote rating in the arcade. The more rep you have, the heavier the weight of your vote (i.e. it counts for more). This should create a fairer way of distributing the user's choice trophy. For more information on how the weighted rank is calculated, see our top games page.
