Cool. It really feels gameboy-ish, but the sine behavior on the plants looks a bit funny/not with the times. It feels alot like a NES/Gameboy Zelda, and i'm looking forward to playing it.

I'm still on the fence about the sine behavior usage as well...

But when I started this game I had decided that I would use the game boy aesthetic to my advantage:
I don't want to limit myself to the same technical limitations of the old handheld.

I'm going to ease players into it, but the game will take extraordinary license when it comes to graphics.

If it looks to odd though, I may just make an animation for the grass blowing...

Wow mate lookin great :D

I like the sine behaviour for the grass, it's subtle enough to look nice and gives a slightly more modern look to the retro graphic style :D

Keep it up! It looks like you guys have done a fair amount of work so far. Can't wait to see a demo or something. :)

This looks great. However the music confused me, which one will go with the game? 8 bit or the epic-sounding one?

I actually enjoyed the contrast of the lo-fi visuals and effects with the hi-fi music.

The composer is slowly going to introduce realistic sounding music as the game progresses.
This will be used as a plot device.

You'll notice that the theme played during the first shot of action gameplay, as the the same theme as being played after showing our composers name. However, that is a more detailed and orchestrated version of the theme.
