Construct works with GameAnalytics

by Tom | 23rd, February 2018

Want to see everything that happens in your Construct game?

Now you can, thanks to GameAnalytics! It’s a powerful tool that helps game developers understand their players’ behaviour, so that devs can improve engagement, reduce churn, and increase monetisation. They’ve recently released an SDK, which can be integrated into your Construct project to unlock advanced, real-time analytics - totally free of charge!

Download the Construct SDK for GameAnalytics here.

About GameAnalytics

GameAnalytics have one core mission: to help you make games that people love. They want to help you understand your players, so that you can improve your gameplay, increase your revenues, and capture the attention of your audience that little bit more. Their software is trusted by more than 40,000 game developers worldwide, and handles over five billion unique events every day, across more than two billion devices.

Why use their software?

Tracking analytics in your game is essential so that you can pinpoint issues and understand where refinements can be made. GameAnalytics is the ‘go to’ tool for indie game developers and larger studios worldwide. Their tool acts as a central platform where you can visualize your core gaming KPIs in one convenient view. You can also benchmark your game to see how your key metrics compare against over 14,000 similar titles.

Getting started

If you want to know how to set up GameAnalytics for Construct in a few simple steps, they have a full guide to outline the process on their website, so you can begin understanding what makes your players tick! You can set up GameAnalytics in a few minutes and it’s totally free of charge, without any caps on usage.

If you’d rather take a look at the platform before writing code, then feel free to take a look at their demo game with pre-populated data.

About the GameAnalytics Dashboards

GameAnalytics allows you to track events in a selection of dashboards tailored specifically to games. The dashboards are powerful, yet totally flexible to suit any use case. These cover the spectrum of important analytical information, from real-time user information, the level of engagement, how well your monetisation is going, and even tracks the level of progress players are making, so you can find out where they’re struggling and act accordingly.

You can find a more detailed overview for each dashboard on the GameAnalytics documentation portal.

Have fun!

You make us proud Construct Team! Well done. Thanks a lot for this.
We just need a confirmation if this works on all export options?

Nope, it doesn't work for iOS export. I've just send you an email on your support board.

Here's my message:

- When exporting a Xcode project with built in iOS export (using Cordova),
each time I call GA init my game freeze on my device or on the simulator.

- Also, logs from Construct 3 SDK 1.0.3 are reported as sdk_version:"construct 1.0.2"

Is this only for mobile? what about web games or testing analytics through browser builds? It would be really nice if analytics could be tested in development and not having to go through the hassle of making a new mobile build to test.

I set up a project and "other" was an option. I haven't had time to get deep into it, but knowing in advance if Construct 3 testing could be supported in browser builds would be incredible helpful to know if data is working before having to build / export / test, build / export / test.. etc

It there going to be google analtyic support from Scirra? or is this a partnership where Game Analytics is the officially supported plugin for Construct 2/3?

There is no wrong answer, but having some idea of where Scirra stands on supporting (or not) analytics as part of the game's core features / service is helpful to know.

thanks for the heads up. Always appreciate of other companies that make C2/3 addons. I really want a C3 Google Analytics, but this is worth checking out.
