New this build: a new List form control plugin, some additions to the Pathfinding behavior, the well-anticipated Turret Defense template and several changes and bug fixes. We'd like to make a stable update soon - next build if all goes well - so please test thoroughly and be sure to report any issues you've noticed.

We're getting a constant barrage of new ideas and suggestions from users - which is great! - but please be aware we're still a very small team, and we're working through everything we've got as fast as we can. We do have lots of great new features planned, ranging from a full save/load system, debugger, tilemaps, layout alignment tools and more - as well as lots of smaller usability improvements - but they are very time consuming to develop. We are keen to bring them to you eventually! However as ever, we prioritise bug fixing over developing new features. We believe this results in much better quality software, since it's better to have fewer features you can really rely on than loads of buggy features. But bug fixing and debugging issues with a new feature can easily take 3 or 4 times as long as it took to write the feature in the first place - this is just a necessary fact of software development. So please be patient, and in the long run I'm confident we can deliver everything you've asked for, in a robust and reliable form.

Please note we're also using a new build system for this release - watch out for any new issues that might not have been present in r117. Happy testing!

New 'List' form control plugin

Pathfinding behavior: 'Add path cost' action. Use objects to simulate difficult terrain, encouraging the behavior to find detours avoiding them unless they are a big shortcut. Also added new 'Pathfinding - path cost' example to Start Dialog demonstrating this.

Pathfinding behavior: condition 'Compare speed', expressions 'Speed', 'MovingAngle' and 'CurrentNode'

New 'Turret defense' template

Pathfinding behavior: cell size now defaults to 30 (up from 20) for better performance by default

node-webkit: now no longer ignores the GPU blacklist since it caused graphic glitches for some users. You may get canvas2D rendering on some desktop systems as a result.

Audio: improved the way the iOS "muted until touch" limitation is handled - should now fully unmute all prior audio upon the first touch

Bug Fix

Sprite 'On collision' event did not pick containers correctly

Bug Fix

Sprite: 'Load image from URL' when used on multiple instances could blank out some objects in WebGL renderer

Bug Fix

Pathfinding behavior: could sometimes get stuck if regularly trying to follow a moving target

Bug Fix

Platform: could sometimes fall through vertically moving jump-thrus

Bug Fix

Spurious console message using constant variables

Bug Fix

Animation frames bar: did not always bring up frame properties on first click on a frame

Removed some preview-only checks that reduced preview performance on some browsers, notably Safari for iOS. Export is still likely to be a little faster since there are still other preview-only cehcks in use.

Some minor collision testing optimisations

Woop! Thanks for the excellent work as usual. I never get as excited about a software update as I do for C2!

Quickdraw, but not first post. I couldn't help read about the Pathfinding maturing already. I am happy.

Edit: Oops, correction, Lightning draw, even better.

I'm really excited about all of the potential features listed, but appreciate all of the hard work it takes to implement. Construct 2 is amazing and keeps getting better.

Nice update! I will dig that list plugin right away. I wonder how it differentiate from an array or what it adds. Maybe it's a totally different thing┬┐?
Since it's a Form I asume it's like a c# list object?
(Stupid internet... is crashing in the office... come on!!)

I'm loving those new updates, full of additions to the main program instead of attempting to integrate external solutions! This is definitely the way to go!
