New this build: we've managed to bring back support for UIWebView (and the old Intel XDK project format accordingly). This should help fix any compatibility problems caused by differences in WKWebView. However we still strongly recommend using WKWebView only since it is significantly faster, so please switch to it if you haven't already and report any issues that come up.

There's also a couple of fixes to Cordova export in general, as well as some more WKWebView fixes which should help more apps port over to it from UIWebView. We've also done some cleanup around old deprecated features and removed some console errors and warnings that had started to appear, particularly in Chrome which had ended up logging several messages due to API changes. Console output should be a bit cleaner now.

The current stable release is still broken when you export with UIWebView, and we are keen to replace it with a fixed stable release. So please test this beta carefully and report any issues you find. If all goes well we'll update the stable release in the next few weeks.

Changelog

Change

Cordova export: added back "Use WKWebView" and "Use new Intel XDK project format" options. Runtime uses new detection to identify WKWebView and avoid previous problems with broken UIWebView mode.

Change

Cordova export: targets Android API level 21 (5.0) instead of 23 (6.0) by default, on advice of Intel

Change

Install: removed the graphics driver updater utility, since it was out of date and graphics driver issues are less of an issue than they were in years gone by. For the same reason, graphics driver links and alerts in the editor itself have been removed.

Bug Fix

Offline support could fail to work if the URL was only a query string, e.g. example.com/?foo

Bug Fix

Cordova export: sometimes after exporting, C2 could create nested "www" folders when previewing

Bug Fix

Cordova iOS WKWebView: fixed requesting local files using AJAX "request URL" instead of "request project file"

Bug Fix

Cordova iOS WKWebView: fixed loading local images (e.g. using Sprite 'Load from URL')

Bug Fix

Removed console error if orientation locking fails

Bug Fix

Remove console deprecation warnings about imageSmoothingEnabled property

Bug Fix

Audio: Removed uses of deprecated doppler factor to emove console warning

Nice to see the WWW folder bug solved...
I have a project with dozens of nested WWW folders, so many that Windows doesn't let me go further inside them...
