This build updates the Cordova exporter with two major updates:

  1. You can now build Construct 2 Cordova exports with Construct 3's mobile app build service!
  2. You can now also build C2 Cordova exports with the Cordova CLI for local builds.

This gives you a lot more flexibility in how you build Cordova apps. We don't immediately have documentation for both, but we plan to get something written up soon. However in brief: to build with C3's build service, simply zip the whole exported folder (which includes config.xml and config.js), open the Export Manager in C3, and click the 'Add archive' button. Once added you can select it and click the Build button. This will run it through the mobile app build service as if you had exported it from C3. Note this requires a C3 subscription. Alternatively if you have the Cordova CLI installed, you can simply run "cordova prepare" on the exported folder and proceed to build it like any other Cordova project. The Cordova CLI documentation is probably the best place to start for now, but we'll have more information up soon. Both these options should help you work around the fact the Intel XDK has now shut down their app build service. There is also, as ever, PhoneGap Build as another build service you can try.

There's one more change we've made for the Cordova exporter: it now defaults to Android 5.0+. You can still use Android 4.x - support for that hasn't been removed, this is simply a change to the default setting. We have done this since Android 5.0+ is now on 75% of all devices, and still rising. Android 4.x requires bundling Crosswalk which resulted in a large APK file, which was a common cause of complaints. Since Android 5.0+ does not need Crosswalk and is now available on three quarters of all devices, we have decided to make it the new default. So by default you will get a small APK file which still runs on a wide range of devices. Over time the share of Android 4.x will shrink further until it is no longer relevant in the market, as has already happened to 2.x and 3.x, so the need for Crosswalk will eventually be completely eliminated.

Great job, guys! Thanks for still supporting C2. I plan to release my first game next week (Bikosaur). Then, I will start working more deeply in C3 for the version 2 of the game. All of this is happening thanks to you! <3 :-)

Unhappy about the need for a subscription to compile Cordoba with C2, why do they leave "abandoned" to C2 users with this feature ?.

I did export to Cordova and I didn't find config.xml and config.js file in the exported folder

I have some concerns about the change made on 'Is by wall".

Let's say I have an specific behavior and animation for a character that is wall jumping, or sliding down a wall.

What would happen if this character jumps, not touching vertical walls , but touches the ceiling? Would the wall jump stuff activate? Or it would be a new option like 'Has wall on left/Has wall on right'?
