Another bug fixing release. Most of note is the picture editor is now software rendered - OpenGL had too many problems. This should fix it for those who had issues with some of the tools, and it even works on those Intel "graphics cards"! (The term should be used loosely for Intel hardware.)

Also of note is the runtime should be faster now, especially on Firefox. Previously garbage-collector pauses were frequent, making for a choppy experience in some browsers. The garbage-collector overhead has been massively reduced, so hopefully those pauses are now few and far between. Thanks to Kevin Gadd for some advice on the matter. Try refreshing the Space Blaster demo to try out the new runtime.

Changelog

Add

Picture editor: rotate 90 degrees clockwise/anticlockwise (useful to make images face right since Construct 2 considers 0 degrees facing that way)

Change

After much fuss, I decided OpenGL isn't up to the job of powering the picture editor. I've changed it to use a software renderer. All picture editor features should now work on all cards (even Intel!) and without any hardware-dependent bugs.

Bug Fix

Animation preview: should be less flickery

Bug Fix

Animation preview: sometimes cut off edges of images in preview

Bug Fix

Platform behavior: if the object you were standing on is destroyed, you no longer remain floating in mid-air.

Bug Fix

Dragging an event referencing a local variable out of its scope crashed. Now it shows a balloon tip notifying you of this.

Bug Fix

Mouse: negated 'is over object' didn't work correctly

Bug Fix

System: 'create object' with an array didn't work

Bug Fix

Sprite: sometimes there was a delay before 'set animation' took effect

Performance

The runtime has been revised to create much fewer javascript objects per tick. This should reduce garbage collection pauses (they should be less frequent and shorter), and give an overall performance boost.

SDK

Methods taking a cr.vector2 parameter have been replaced with separate x and y parameters to help reduce the GC overhead.

Awesome Ashley.
The new runtime (at least on Space Blaster) really feels great on FireFox 6.0. I have the impression to be playing an arcade game now.

Awesome, awesome, awesome !
Downloading the editor now.

Thank you Tom.

Hey, I have problems with frame speed saves. Every time I put other frame speed in a animation, save, close construct and send via dropbox to my other computer, the numbers of frame speed back to be 1 =(

Dont saving frame speed of animations

@SocialLie, I've fixed that for the next build. Next time don't forget to make a post in the Bugs forum so I don't miss it!
