This is a fairly straightforward bug fixing release. We're back from our week's break now, and while we were away some bugs were reported. I've gone through and fixed some of them, including one or two common ones. If all goes to plan, this should be a solid release to work with.

If you're auto-updating from r57, there have been a lot of changes in the releases in between, including a new Physics engine! Check the past changelogs on the left.

The next major feature planned is families. Updates might slow down for a while as that's developed. It's a really big and complex feature that affects pretty much all the code. So don't worry if there's a week or two with no updates - we're still working hard :)

Add

Physics: get mass and get center of mass X and Y

Add

Platform: Set Vector X/Y. Allows for custom bounce/bump/stomp functionality.

Change

Physics: entering 0 for an object's image point now means its center of mass, rather than the actual object origin. This is so applying a force at image point 0 does not cause the object to rotate, which is usually the intention.

Change

Object bar: selecting an object type no longer focuses the layout. This makes the delete key delete object types rather than the selected instances.

Bug Fix

"Object has no animations" check failure after deleting a Sprite object type.

Bug Fix

Physics: Set Angle on the object could cause it to stop

Bug Fix

Preview/export: sometimes the canvas would select if your game involved a lot of clicking. Now the canvas never selects.

Bug Fix

Sprite: setting an animation frame could cause the hotspot and collision mask to be used from a different frame

Bug Fix

Could give projects invalid names via the properties bar

i have only just started using the previous version , will the tutorials need to be corrected or do i just keep on following the old tutorials ?

@carminielloz: You can keep using the "old tuts", there is no "major" change in this version. A few subtilties listed in as "add", but nothing that will "break" the tutorials already written.
