Smashing magazine recently published a good article: Playful UX Design: Building a Better Game

It has 10 tips on improving the user experience your games -- thought I'd share it here.

@NewSkool : Thanks for posting. Some great advice here!

My pick:
8. Skip The Manual ("The best way to convince people that a game is worth playing is by letting them jump in and try it out for themselves ...") My young Max refuses to read instructions (unlike his dad, an obsessive reader of instructions): "I like working out things for myself".
