I will call myself an "amateur viewer", regarding the movie 2001, for having seen this movie only once. Today.

I didn't read about the movie before viewing, to avoid spoilers.
At the end I found the movie is more abstract in expressing its ideas/thoughts than most movies I have seen.

This website helped me pointing out what could be the meaning of the movie:

Perhaps you might find it interesting.

One of my favorites. Besides i do like Kubrick a lot. Onether of his films is ' Dr. Strangelove - How i stoped to worrie and loved the bomb' . Awsome film with Peter Sellers doing 3 roles. But you have to know the history of world war 2, and nazi ideas for the future to understand and enjoy the film.
