  • Yes, my first post(tm), so hiya!

I'm creating a 2D platformer (some kind of torture platformer really) in C2. I'm really just trying to spread the news, but I'd love to hear feedback if you have any. "I love it, I hate it, you're a sadist"... everything counts. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink">

The game is under development, _but_ part 1/3 is completely playable and won't change much anymore. Rest will follow within the next weeks as time permits. It plays in the web browser, no fancy stuff needed, just a plain export with construct.

It will be a short but rather hard game. So no giant levels, but some good old frustrating and infuriating parts.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Ehm... you' re a sadist

  • Got to the boss, but gave up there because I couldn´t reach that last switch or the dynamite, no clue what I am supposed to do there. Be very careful about what and how you make your game hard. Make your game fun first, then make it hard. The line between hard and just plain annoying is very thin, and I think you crossed it into the annoying part.

  • Hiya and thank you for your feedback. I really appreciate it that you took the time and played it!

Yes, I'm aware that parts of it are probably more annoying than hard. It's part of the genre for me. I kinda wanted to recreate the feeling of some other super annoying platform games I played over the years.

But it must be doable of course. May I ask what the main problem was with the boss? You obviously understood how the switches worked. Too many bullets (would be my guess) or was the terrain too confusing? I admit that I "tuned" that one a lot after a friend told me that the boss was far too easy. Maybe doubled it a bit too far.

    And...

    Ehm... you' re a sadist

you're probably right with that :p
