I see someone has already tried it and broken the tos.

Do you feel that this is of such an important nature that it should give you the right to break the rules?

The site runs for years without issue, and when you find a flaw you feel that the world will end if it's not taken care of when you want it.

Furthermore if you really were looking out for the sites best interest, why in the world would you make a public post rather than contact Scirra directly?

The rules are at the bottom.
You would know what they were if you read them.

It could've been handled in quiet without telling every one.
Now people know of the exploit because you wanted attention.

The sites been running for years, and now it's an issue because you decide?
If you had told them it would then be their responsibility to deal with it, not yours. Or are you willing to take that responsibility?

Uh-oh! Looks like we're too late!
"Someone" already hacked the site. Click any link outside of the forum and the pages start breaking apart. Lol!

Btw, I agree with newt. You made a poor choice in the way you brought this to the staff's attention.

This site. Click on any link in the top menu and then click another link after that. You'll see what happens.
