A question about effects

.capx attached for reference https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/70305965/pulse.capx

When I apply a pulse effect to an object it seems to apply it to a fixed point on the screen rather than the object itself. If the player is stationary it's fine, but if they jump or move and the screen scrolls, the effect is ruined (see example). I'm just wondering why this happens, and whether there is a workaround, so that the effect remains constant, regardless of player position, speed etc.

Yeah, rotating the layout and scrolling doesn't seem to influence effects like this. I doubt there's a workaround, @Ashley will have to fix them separately.

You are able to set the parameters by event!

[SOLVED]
Is EFFECTEDSPRITE Visible?
-Set Effect "Pulse" parameter 5 to EFFECTEDSPRITE.X
-Set Effect "Pulse" parameter 6 to EFFECTEDSPRITE.Ybreackzin2013-04-30 19:44:32

Hey, I tried that - but it didn't seem to fix the problem for me, could you explain in a little more detail or post an example? Thanks!

I've done as I saed. I had a sprite pulsing, and other sprite[player] moving with behavior scroll-to, then I understood that the effect was relative to screen position.

My first try was to set parameters on the effect box. No sucess as it would not accept my imputs.

My solving try was to do it by events, as explained above.

PS.: I didn't saw ur reply before, is there anyway to follow topics by posting on them?

Noticed the same today when I tried to add a pulsing effect. Its always centered on the layout (when values are set to be centered) and not on the object. Is this a bug or why is it always centered on the layout and not on the object which has the effect?
