Acces built in variables

For questions about using Classic.

Post » Sun Jul 12, 2009 4:08 pm

Hello,

I am just new to Construct, I used Game Maker a while - so I am not new to game creation.

So here is the question or the problem:

I am searching built in variables. Like the application/layer height.

So if I am using a tiled background. I can put the variable in the "Width" field. I has the effect, that when I am resizing the app I have not to change that field again.

Where can I find thoose variables? Or are they not present?

System expressions I believe? Double click the system icon when editing expressions for a full list.

The expression to get the display height is DisplayHeight. There is no layer height, because layers are the same size as your layout. Which, coincidentally, is expressed by LayoutHeight.

Here's a list of other system expressions:

a more convenient list is there when you're typing in a value or something such as height, double click the system icon at the bottom for a full list of expressions, and you it will insert the text for you

No, just change https:// to http://

People who are logged in tend to forget that as they copy the url ;)
