Android Experiences

Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

Post » Sun Mar 23, 2014 8:36 am

I would like to know a few things in terms of android & construct 2.

Which is the best exporter and which versions of android you can develop for?
How is the actual working state? I read a bit about audio problems and such.
Can you really recommend construct for creating android apps?

Thanks for your answers.

There's no best, just what you need most.

Small games with Ads/IAPs = CocoonJS
Bigger games as paid app = Crosswalk
Hopefully very soon, bigger games with Ads/IAP = Crosswalk!
Working state is good in my own experience, but I take great care as I build the game to frequently test it on mobile devices, and always check my code to ensure they aren't taking too much CPU.

Highly recommend C2 for Android Apps.

I only have a few games (recently launched) so far: https://play.google.com/store/apps/deve ... dios&hl=en
But I like C2 a lot.

I also recommand that first you learn to use the engine, since mobile is still tricky to get working while learning how to use C2 at the same time
Game design is all about decomposing the core of your game so it becomes simple instructions.

Thanks for your advices and thanks @Silverforce for linking your games. I've tested them and they work pretty well on my galaxy s3.

I've used costruct a while a ago for a litte html game and I have been grown up with the clickteam tools so I'm not unexperienced ;-) I really like construct. Its better than a lot other tools (like stencyl etc.) in my opinion :)

I would also recommend C2, I made one app so for and it works great. It is a thousand times easier then Eclipse.

I think CocoonJS supports all versions android, I only used 2.3 and up
Crosswalk is 4.0 and up

I had no audio problems

The app Sewer Fish - https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... .sewerfish
