Particles support animations, collisions, effects and etc.

Currently you can have a single image for a partcile generator... would be nice if it supported multiple animation frames like a sprite can. This would allow for some pretty fancy particle effects.

  • It's very easy to create a particle generator on your own, so this isn't really nescessary. Sure, it would be nice, but i can think of 100 other things that seems more important to me.

Sure it's not really necessary, but it would be nice. I know it's easy enough to make your own particle generator as well... but the particle sprayer is there so you don't have to make your own... especially if it's more complicated than a simple spray, like with colour fades and gravity of particles etc etc.

  • I would like to see this as well actually. It can wait until after beta though, at least.

That's true, but I'm not sure it's worthwhile making the particle spray object increasingly complicated with more and more properties and controls until it can completely match what you can do with Sprites. If you want 100% flexibility, I think the best thing to do is just use Sprites - it'll run just as fast as using the advanced controls on the particles object.

I thought it was a pretty basic feature really... perhaps that it was overlooked when making the particle sprayer in the first place.

I guess I'll have to go write events for gravity and use tint shaders and stuff to custom make what I want :/
