animations affecting drag and drop

3 pixel charaters with over 8 animations each + animations with a gun
  • Hi I am making a game that requires touch input as you drag the character around so I am using the drag and drop on my sprite to achieve this but my character animations are interrupting the drag and drop what can I do to solve this?

    In the event sheet I have it set to play certain animations on drag start and stop etc but once they play the character drops and is hard to pick up again due to the animations playing from what I can see.

    Sorry if this is really stupid question.

  • Hmm, maybe you can make it so that you don't grab the character; instead, you grab an invisible object in front of them that does not animate, and make the character pinned to it. That might work.

    Just an update turns out it was the physics pulling the character away from the mouse so I have set physics to off when the character is being dragged which has fixed the issue.
