Another .exe File size question ?

For questions about using Classic.

Post » Tue Sep 20, 2011 2:26 pm

I know that when I create an .exe from a .cap, the .exe size depends on what objects and plugins I have used to make the game.

If the game has 4 Listboxes (254kb each ), does the .exe increase by 254kb or by 1016kb (254 x 4) ?

Might sound rough although not intended: What hinders you to quickly export two executables and compare their sizes?

Your right my friend. I should have just done that in the first place.

Results

Cap with 6 list boxes: 1263kb    exe file: 4972kb

Cap with no list boxes: 1237kb    exe file: 4782kb

I am trying to reduce the exe file size, but it I dont think there is much i can do to make it any smaller.

Oh but there is.There's an app called npacker which reduces an exe's size.It also prevents anyone from extracting any resources within the exe file.
