A change of direction.

When trying to use line of site I wanted to make my objects hide behind the other line of site objects. I found that making all my objects solid just made them all invisible. Anyway this is a work around test.

I bet there is an easier way ?

line of site test

I will tidy up the capx and post soon.

hi and thank you for this. :) keep up the great work.

Maybe one day someone will implement proper shadows as a plugin. Until then this is the best place in the entire forum on doing a hack.

Looks even better with horizontal and vertical blur effect added.
The only issue with that is you have extra 25 (or more) objects for every shadow casting sprite.

Never quite sure of the etiquette concerning reviving old post/starting new ones....

trying out shadow offsets on moving targets (with a shadow overlay) - methods discussed in tutorials "The land of light and shadow" Parts 1,2,3*

Shadow effect on bugs is ok - it can be exaggerated by changing the global value at the start (gvShadowOffset)

Bugs shadows movement splat

@RamPackWobble, wow, these are great examples! I wasn't even aware that C2 could do this.

Thank you very much for sharing tutorials and example code also!danialgoodwin2014-01-15 01:32:08
