Hello,

I've searched the site for quite a while and only come up with Classic tutorials for light and shadow.

If there are any for C2, would someone be so kind as to provide a link?

Thanks so much and have a great weekend everyone.

In the folder "examples" of your install of C2. There is one example named Lighting.capx
Else you also have the grid based sight behavior which 1st examples worked on lighting.Kyatric2011-10-15 19:44:28

You should rather report this error in the grid based sight behavior thread.
Apparently the example was done with an ancient version of the plugin, maybe rez can give you a hand on this one.
(Also are you sure you installed the plugin before opening the capx ?)

@Kyatric - (Hello! Iiiit's me again.) I actually just found that very .capx and wanted to learn how to recreate it so I could learn further how to manipulate it. The problem I'm having is knowing where to start. I see that both light objects are sprites...so I took a peek at the "edit animations" feature. Is that an imported image or is it more of a quick-drawn image made via C2's drawing tools?

I tried to insert a new object, and maybe I'm not searching deep enough, but I don't see (initially) how to implement such a lighting effect.
I'm seeking Narnia. Who wants to come with me! Aslan is on the move!

Hi Rhindon, Cool Avatar!

The set up is based on a black sprite for the background - Plain, ordinary... nothing special. The light sprites were created externally. Just a circle with a gradient edging. White fading to transparent. These sprites have an effect > Blend mode added to it. Click on the Sprite and check the list to the level. It should say "Normal" as default. Change this to "Destination out" and you're done!

As far as I am aware, this only really works with black and white sprites, but I may be mistaken. Give it a go, and let me know if you have any issues.

Layer's properties are also important. Force own texture to Yes. You can create mask and combined with canvas plugin, you can do really good things.
