  • Hello, nice to meet you.

As amateur hobbyist, I love to draw, write & make stuff. Now I am developing games, so exciting! (and excited)

My focus is to make some unique casual web/mobile games, and hopefully can monetize my future games in mobile platforms.

I wonder how many of you lone developers out there?

Please share a bit about your goals & passion~

    Love~

  • Hi, I'm a 14 years old game developer and programmer. I have made games since I was 12.

Welcome Buddy! Hope to see one of your games!

  • I'm a one man band as well. I've been trained to do art, music/sound, programming and just started with game design. I'm borrowing heavily and only modifying mechanics slightly, but I was able to reproduce a full platform game based on a custom Atari cartridge game my friend made a few years ago. It took about 2 months, but most of that was level layouts (you'd be surprised how much an Atari could handle on platform level sizes! Rivals the first Mario in complexity ...)

I just started designing and working on a multiplayer blackjack-similar game that I want to push up to Facebook. I hope I can find an acceptable way to monetize it, but I'm more interested in just getting as many people to play as I can so I can get better feedback for the next one.

Welcome to the community and good luck with your endeavors!

  • Thanks guys!

It's nice to be able to create games, instead of just playing.

  • Any more?

  • Compared to some of the code ninjas here or those who have completed projects I'm still but a newbie. And also have nearly always been a one man team - making art, sounds, everything by myself. But as time goes by more and more I realize that a single person can only do so much - some of it can be overcome making/using tools, but generally it's a question of persistence and motivation.

For me the future seems to be with teamwork, but I do really admire those who manage to build a proper project all by themselves.

  • allen T well first il say hello , then i go to the point ...

im a newby so far, i dont like to say pro cause im not fully knowledgeble of c2 full potential since im not a trainer developer i dont know any kind of code, outside of <html>,<body> and kinda that is it and i guess thats for websites and not for games definetly C2 is the way to go ... i cant see myself using other platforms, i wold love to sue unity3d but ... my lack of knowledge in C++ its bellow 0 its just i dont have enough patience to memorize the codes and patience to write them, i just love to click drag and drop , its way easier and c2 does it perfect, i tryed a few platforms before like stencyl, game maker pro, and many others, just they kinda lack something i dont know what yet, maybe the simplicity, or the community i dont know , in my opinion c2 is greatest 2d game engine ever made its pure magic , and perfected and is getting better and better.

i started 2 years ago looking for a new hobby and a way of income that allows me to work from home, i had a few working places but i just cant... i mean i dont know others, but for me its not gonna happen never, i guess im tryng to say i cant work for other people im to smart to be shepherd by some retard corporatsky that wants to exploit you for 400euros a month in a world where the sky si the limit , it just discusts me, i better stay at home and do games, freelancer works, play games, make love to my Gf and so far i love it, i have the perfect life for me , not sure for others..... so back to 2 years ago , was searching for a game engine that is simple , and does not need any programming skills what so ever, i came across stencyl ...2.2 i guess was back then ... a flash driven game engine, with a great way of exporting games in Flash ...and thats kinda it... yes android and ios but ios unless u have a mac its not gonna happen for u, android ehhh its laggy and discusting slow, and the compatibility its pure garbage, the only good thing at it is the way they allow you to implement ads inside the engine just by filling a form in the game settings like a built in plugin (for mobile games im talking ) , so i did learned it tooked me 10 minutes, its that short, then i started making games, crap games, more for learning purpose however did a clone of slice ninja fruits thing, and got a offer from a russian company so i sold 1 custom game license with theyr graphics etc,... and it got me like 700 dollars on that thing... im telling u tooked like 3 weeks of working and buyng the expensive license witch is 300 usd dollars per YEAR not forever,.... its hard ...hard... so after i cashed in imediatly i got hooked up by this ideea hey u can create games, do freelancer jobs and sell the damn things and do 10x more then ur day time job "Hurraaa" was sayng at the moment as a newby that doesnt know the journey yet..... so go rushed in into it, had a bit of cash, started craking on games, after a month dident sold nothing else, not even 1$ ..sad moment life had embraced me in her dirty wound and puke me out on the "backdoor" , so i back then there was this internet talking about what engine is great , what is the future of internet games, and so on, the HTML5 era and talking, so i came across a few websites that where listing C2 among a bunch of other game engines, first at beggining was sceptic about Construct 2 cause his name and the way it looks that Office look scared me i was thinking that is a coding based game engine that requires knowledge, even if the main page says no programming knowledge required i know ... but other game engines say same Shit just in end isnt true ...like Unity3d ... no skills required .... Abig LOL .... so i dident tryed c2 i went and tryed game maker crap engine, its ugly , pure garbage dont know why people even bother theyr minds with it, maybe cause of the 3d capabilitys not sure, if u can call a 2d isometric a 3d capability ... come one i know u got used with it , those who use it, but its not that great its under stencyl and stencyl its like Flappy Birds of Engine's ... so dont cry about it, i know im hursh but still i dont care.... so after tryng the "CrappyBird" Engine for like 30 minutes did a tutorial, and was exhausting, and i just deleted the damn thing from my computer, so went and tryed others, for like a month or so i did only search search search, after that went back to stencyl, found a guy in the forums, looking for a stencyl teacher, i was short on cash , had a bit of knowledge, and sayd fk it atleast his payng, was uncofortable at first, but then he really payd in end, so i started teaching this guy, the relation went good, (business relation - u todlers ul think im gay not gonna happen in 1 mil years or more presuming some dudes here will say that will happen after 1 mil years... i meant wont happen ever ... till next time cheers and take care guys and girls (ladyes and getlemans ).... • Thanks for your story, gamecorpstudio!

For me, I just tired of being pushed around by previous employers. Being in employment didn't work well for me at all, I couldn't be truly myself and have time to do the things I love. (and I hate stress ) Out of jobs for awhile, then a realization struck me, and I felt I never been more AWAKE: stop fearing about the future, just do the things you love! So I decided to go online, as if it's like a new journey, a new phase. Suddenly life becomes a lot easy and peaceful (and FUN) for me.

It all comes to what resonates and what feels good. I don't care about the outcome. Making stuff (including games) in my own term just makes me happy.

you sound so much as me when i was younger , hehe , now i just dont care that much for things and stuff, i just do the last point you said, its alot easier to live the life like that, cause remember LIFE for normal people is when u you espect that one day will come when you will live your life, get it? so peace of mind and less worring about how u look, what you wear,or what the neighboor says, just do what you please, cause you know what? in the end nobody gives a rat ass on what you do, when, or with who. its just words so time passes by, but people gets confused, frustrated, and gelous for no reason specially, human kind pitty on it, thats our downside .... and will drive most of us to the end of race, sooner then later, just hopefully you'l find the right way to get there and make your time worth spending for the time you get to the finish line. cheers
