Any way of 'linking/grouping' sprites?

  • Hi, I'm new to construct 2 and currently working on a small project alongside my friend and we've been wondering if there is anyway to 'group' or link seperate sprites.

A specific example here is in a small game we are building in which enemies have their 'collision' model, and a second invisible sprite of a larger size which acts as their 'detection radius' and would follow the movement of the model itself.

Is there any of way of linking the two so that they would behave as a single instance of either type of sprite? (with regards to the effects of actions of events acting on them)

Any help would be much appreciated, and sorry if I've not explained it very clearly in the post

  • 'Containers' in Classic is what you want - you can group together objects so they act as a composite object. However, the feature hasn't been added to C2 yet. It's on the todo list!

In the mean time, as long as there are equal numbers of objects, 'Set A position to B.X, B.Y' will pair up an A to every B.

  • Ah right, fair enough then- thanks anyway

Managed to find an alternative/work around for the idea we were trying to implement however (using something similar to what you suggest actually ) so that shouldn't be neccessary I don't think.

Also, really loving C2 at the moment- its great and so simple to use :D

  • Can you please share for the benefit of others, what kinds of workarounds can be used in place of "containers" or grouped sprites?
