Download BasicBilliards.rar (exe and source):

[size=60:3jwen7dc]Edit:
Note the date on this thread... it's very old! This was the first thing I ever made in Construct. Thread necromancy courtesy of Zanuff.

The source .cap no longer exists, but here is the .exe if you want to take a look:

When I say "basic" I mean it. It's rather no-frills, but it runs pretty well, and is actually pretty accurate. The table is just about to scale... I think. I tried, anyway. If your angle is good you should be able to sink shots pretty easily. It helps if you're good at pool in real life :)

Aim your shot with the mouse. Click to shoot. Choose your shot strength with the buttons located at the bottom.

Scratching the cue ball will place it back at it's default position. Sinking the eight ball restarts the application.

This represents about two day's work, most of that was tweaking the ball size and re-drawing the sprites a hundred times to match the new size. I might make a real, full game with rules and an AI opponent in the future, but for now I'm done with it. If anybody wants to tweak it to get more realistic ball movement or whatever, please post your results.

Wow this is great :D . One of the first games made with Construct! It would be be cool if you make a motion blur effect when the billiard balls move, and maybe a pool cue, but in all great job!

Well, I wouldn't call it a "game" exactly, more like a prototype for a game. But thanks for the comments, guys :)

What's with all the thread necromancy lately? This has got to be the oldest thread to rise from the grave yet. Seriously, when a thread is this old, chances are the files just don't exist any more.

Case in point, I no longer have the .cap file for this. It's just gone, lost forever. The .cap file probably wouldn't even run at all in the newest version of Construct.

I do have the .exe though, if you're still interested in it. Keep in mind that this was literally the very first thing I ever made in Construct, and it's really simple and really kind of stupid, and with minimal effort you can easily make something much better than this:

its the tutorials thread, which is a great idea, including dead links until they get filtered out; i posted asking that he request dead link reports in that same thread at the top.

Yep, I realized that after posting that reply. I'm just going to go ahead and lock this thread, it's ancient history.
