The perfect way to start development of multiplayer games
  • Hey everyone - Newbie to Construct2 here so be gentle <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

    Also, if this turns out to be a bug - then please move the topic to the appropriate forum or where ever it needs to be so that the correct people can deal with it. - Thanx.

    While using the Beginner's Tutorial, I've been noticing that the images in the tutorial don't match the images in my copy of Construct2, so I reasoned that my version is newer then this version. -- OKay, I'm all right with that issue. -- But, as I am following the Beginners Tutorial and got to the section about adding behaviors and noticed that the section that states:

    s with adding an event, we have our same list of objects to choose from, but this time for adding an action. Try not to get confused between adding conditions and adding actions! As shown, double-click the Player object, for it is the player we want to look at the mouse. The list of actions available in the Player object appears:

    With the following dialog image:

    <img src="http://entelone.com/images/playersetanglepos.png" border="0" />

    But when I open the Add Event Dialog in my version as shown in the following image:

    <img src="http://entelone.com/images/currentplayersetangle.png" border="0" />

    There is no choice available per the instructions in the tutorial. So I'm wondering if these choices are no longer available or if my copy of Construct2 is faulty, or is this tutorial (severely) out of date?

    I'd appreciate any help on this from anyone. Thanx...

  • Your window is the Event window. which is like the condition window.

    the top is the action is the thing that happens when the condition is met. you may have skipped a step before that.

  • Try Construct 3

    Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

    Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Your dialog is adding an event, not adding an action.

    That's precisely what the paragraph is warning about.

    Events are "the left column" of the event sheet whereas the actions are "the right column", the list to the right.

    If you want to add an action click the little "Add action".

  • SOLVED! Thank you so much for your assistance. I did mis-read the instructions and apologize. I am working hard at learning this product and missed a step.

    Thanks again for your help
