Discussion of tools and resources for game developers

I use GIMP and InkScape for graphics, and of course I use Construct for making games. :P I personally thought GIMP's interface was counter-intuitive in the beginning, but now I can't part with it. Of course, i'm talking about 2.2; the latest version sucks. :P

They screwed up all of the selection tools. I prefer being able to instantly drag and move the contents of my selection rather than having to finalize the selection and then hold control-alt. :?

I use Photoline([url:1dfd7e1p]http://www.pl32.com[/url:1dfd7e1p]) for image editing. Fast, cheap and stable. Great alternative to Photoshop or Paint shop pro.

The best "free" pixel painting software I have used is Artweaver[/color:121ouzlm]. Its a Photoshop/Painter mix.

And, Inkscape, for vector drawing.

Once I tried Graphics Gale I never looked back. :] Everything in it feels so intuitive and natural for pixel work.

Never really got into GIMP that much. Paint.net is a nice one to use, and I recently downloaded PaintTool SAI, which is turning out to be really fun for general artwork.

Dropbox[/color:9mgycmdp]. It is not image/sound tool but it is great if you are working with your Construct projects  , in diferent places, and for sharing files, here for example, with direct links. Really usefull.
