add a border effect to put in the "sprites" and "tiled background" would be infinitely useful for drawing!

I'm not sure what you mean by border effect - can you post an example?

automatically put a border on the "sprite" or "tiled background", same as in html.

As C2 games use canvas, html attributes or CSS do not apply to sprites. There's many ways to achieve this effect. I'd just create a black sprite, set it to be 5px bigger that the target sprite, and change the zindex so that it's behind it. If you then plan to move it, simply pin it.

I also use a "sprite" behind to give the border effect!
About my comment, did not mean to put a html attribute, but as if the "border" was configurable in "sprite".
Thank you!

@dimielannes

maybe the outline shader by R0J0hound is of interest.

i made a small capx which shows the outline with a mouse over effect.
