Boss AI in Vertical Shooter game

Hello, I just signed up here to try and solve a bit of at AI issue am having in construct classic. I want to make the boss enemy change attack patterns in phases ex.(first Tri-shot, then Rockets, then Vulcan on a loop.) I tried using private and global variables already, but I can't can the right results. I ended up with the boss pre-maturely starting phase 2 before phase 1 ended. any advice?

There are many ways to do this. If you posted the .cap it'll probably be easier to help. You could make a timer that spawns bullets depending on a "NextShot" variable, or after the Tri-shot/rockets/vulcan are destroyed, (like leaving the layout, hitting the player, after a timer) spawn the next attack, etc. It would probably be best to post your .cap

Thx for the reply. What you said about the variable worked perfectly. so the problem's solved. next time I need advice I'll be sure to post the cap.
