Bullet not shooting from image point

Get help using Construct 2

Post » Sun May 26, 2013 2:50 am

Hi all, this is my first post so I apologize if this is addressed elsewhere. I am running into an issue where the bullet is shooting from either above or below the player but not the image point.

My event is Gamepad-Button B Pressed-Player-Spawn-"bullet image"-at game layer and image point 1. Image point 1 is definitely set correctly and the player sprite is not oversized.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

If you have an animation playing, make sure you have that image point on each frame, not just the first one.

No animations just one frame. Default 0 that I mirror to go left and right.

Yeah it doesn't work. I notice that if the player is facing left the projectile is about a player length above the player sprite. When mirrored its a players length below.

Is your projectile origin set approprietly?

Ok sorry for being so bad at this lol. By origin do you mean for the projectile spawn event? I placed it at image point 1 on my sprite like in the tutorial.

Also I really appreciate the help its cool that so many have responded.

@leroyjackson : the Image point 0 of the projectile (not of your character), it should be centeredAphrodite2013-05-26 23:03:16

Changed it to zero. Same thing happened. I thought I had two "player" sprites with one being invisible but that wasn't it either.

I meant more that for your projectile:

(image here)

the Origin (point number 0) be at the center of your projectile, Sometimes, it doesn't go right in the middle, an non-centered object can explain the problem you encountered
