Bumpmapping lighting

I looked at this earlier (i might have replied to this topic i can't remember) but i only just realised how cool this is. Ash/Lads do you think its possible to do this?-

In my space game I could have normal and bump maps for all my objects, then have light sources in the game, that appear invisible until they hit an object (as you wouldn't really be able to see light in just black space i believe. Its only when it collides with an object). So we could make some really cool explosions and introduce a sort of flash light feature etc.

I don't even know if i can be bothered after these 5 years of making this game to fully complete everything. I can see it turning into a huge tech demo :P

But yeah, if that can be done please let me know.

Great find Davion, that's the perfect program for normal mapping, and works great in Construct!

Also - Raindemo with bumps. Ain't this just delicious.

the demos don't work too well using the arrow keys and a trackpoint instead of a mouse (it's not a glitch or anything like that, just an uncomfortable combination) =P

You couldn't get the gun blast to spew lighting information around it, or the ghosts to emit a faint green, eerie light? These additions feel only necessary.

Ash mentioned he had trouble getting multiple lights up and running. I'm sure he'll get it eventually.
