C2 games on Amazon

Ideas and discussion about publishing and distributing your games

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2016 5:59 pm

Has anyone got any games on it yet?
If so how is it doing, and how was the process?
Was it hosted apk, or webapp?

I noticed you can now sell web games, but it looks like the ad, and iap sdk is a no go there.
One being apk only, the other broken on this end.

Still, I'm quite impressed with the performance of the fire tablet which leads me to believe the fire tv should hold up just as well.

I published 2 games this year. Both of those were android apps produced with CocoonIO tech. My installs are less than a dozen after about a month. The enrollment process is similiar to the Google App store. There are different icon sizes and screenshot requirements compared to what Google needs. So, I generally have 2 separate folders containing those different sized images. I put the games out there as free. No ads or upfront cost. I don't think CocoonIO has the tech to monetize Amazon apps distributed as apk at the moment.

Less than a dozen total installs after a month?
Makes me wonder if paid apps are viable.

I think the paid route for games should be taken advantage AFTER there's a critical mass of installs. Not from the get-go. Release an update with additional levels or some other major feature and then put a price on that release. Keep one free and another one paid. At the moment I'm publishing to Google and Amazon, however, after a month I'm putting those games up for auction on Flippa. The ones which are sold are then re-skinned with an entirely different graphic style and asset library.

I published my latest game on both Amazon and its new Underground store (http://www.amazon.com/Robin-Hood-Give-a ... 0185PU2F4/ apk done with CocoonIO).
This store is dedicated to games that are otherwise premium on other marketplaces and the developer is paid by the number of minutes the game is actually played. Clearly, having the game on Underground cannibalizes sales on the original store as well as Google Play in the countries where Underground is available (US, UK, FR, DE, ESP, ITA) but it can be worth it.
Good luck!

I've uploaded my games on Amazon back in 2014. Both of them are Android apps made with the old CocoonJS. But they are now obsolete for me...

Message: FlyingRam can only post plain text URLS until they have 500 rep. 2 URLS modified. Why?
I just uploaded a game and I was very pleased with the QA testing that they provide. Unfortunately, the Amazon packaging isn't allowing mY app to resize and I am currently preparing a patch so it'll work on more devices. But all in all, I think it is a great platform to sell.

here is a tutorial that Amazon provides. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4k7C0go ... -6pOeDXbrg

I published Hell Eagle for Amazon Fire TV at 2nd of October 2015.
Until now I have 99 downloads.
But the game is for free and only works with gamecontroller. It' apk, made with intel XDK.

So if I have a game already on Google Play and I want to sell it on Flippa what's the best way to do it:
1. Reskin one of the games BEFORE put it on sale
2. Reskin my game from Google Play after the sale
3. Don't reskin (but then my buyer will have a duplicate content on Google Policy and will risk his game being removed)
4. Don't resking but unpublish my game from Google Play
Can you resell the same game multiple times on Flippa after reskin?
Thanks
