Can Construct 2 make a roguelike?

Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

I'm not asking for anyone to tell me how or anything, I'm just wondering if Construct 2 can be used to make roleplaying games from a top-down perspective that works on turn counters (the player moves a tile/takes an action, then all the enemies move/take actions) or is it more of a action-based game program?

Yes. C2 is not made for any specific genre. Basically if its 2d then its doable.
However I wouldn't suggest something big from the get go.

I have a hybrid roguelike/towerdefense game that I'm writing that uses a turn counter system for movement. It runs in realtime, but with 2-3 more lines of code would run in classic roguelike fashion. C2 is more than able to make a roguelike.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll be taking it slow at first to be sure to learn how everything works. And that game sounds really interesting, theubie!viewtifulrexx2013-01-30 19:26:12

Search for a roguelike that R0j0hound made. I can't remember the title of it, but he made an example for a procedurally generated dungeon like Binding of Issac.
