Can sprites follow a set path?

Get help using Construct 2

Post » Sun Jan 26, 2014 1:30 pm

Hi guys,

I have a title page with a fish on it, and I want the fish to jump out of the water. This would require it to move and rotate along a curved line of movement.

Is this possible in Scirra? To have a sprite follow a curved path that can be drawn? Or is there a plugin that enables this?

Thanks heaps!

You could just write events for this.

But to answer your question, there is not a "draw a path and follow it" behaviour.

But again..

You could just write events for this..
I told my dentist I had trouble with my teeth and asked her to fix it without looking in my mouth..

Needs work...(and a better name ?)

"Fish jumping out of water following a path of predefined points example"

Points need to be closer together to smooth curves.

@RamPackWobble, lol, I think that is a great name. Also, that idea does work and is probably the most simple to implement.

Another idea is to apply the physics behavior to the fish, apply a force to the fish when it is near the top of the water, and you can have a very smooth trajectory above the water.
