can we still load .INI files?

Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

so... yeah, it is still possible to load an .INI file at the start of layout? As I'm making a small RPG this would really be decisive as to which version of Construct I need...

Thanks a lot

This plugin doesn't exist yet in C2.
Also, I'm not sure it will be, as Javascript is not supposed to give you access to the files of the user.

This might be workedaround using the webstorage plugin somehow, but files wouldn't be .ini format.

You also have the opportunity of using ajax, meaning your datas would be stored in a webhosted database, and your application calls a script through ajax that would return all the infos you need (and that are stored in the database).

Hmm I'll go get some sleep and give this a try! But the more it looks like the arguments keep going in favor of Classic...

thanks a bunch!

INI is an ancient format - from the Windows 3.1 era. I've been planning to replace it with XML features in C2.

But it still commonly used, and it's easer to work with, especialy when you work with small data, it's more handy and lightweight than XML or JSON (btw, what about JSON?)
