Can you limit the frame rate?

For some reason, the ultra smooth 60fps comes with the cost of little stutters when the FPS dips, if ever.

Is there any chance we could limit the framerate in C2 games?

I wondering about this feature also. While I understand that 60fps is ideal given the power. I find that after some tests with old code that if I set my animation rate to equal a lower FPS that it maintains it's smooth animation. I'm not saying it's as nice as all the calculations of 60fps, but it works well.

It would be awesome to have control over both rendering speed and delta timer rates.jayderyu2012-09-23 05:05:58

I also want this. I wanted to cap my next game's framerate to 30 For this reason and so that more machines can play the game in the exact same way.

Using delta-time guarantees your game plays the same way regardless of framerate. So I don't believe that's a reason to support a fixed framerate.

Also, isn't 60 FPS with the odd hiccup still a better experience than a steady 30 FPS? Also, why are you sure hiccups won't still happen at a lower framerate? I've never been convinced there was any need to run C2 games at any framerate other than V-sync, since it looks best and provides the best gaming experience.

Can someone point me to where you set/experiment with "Framerate mode" and "V-sync" etc? I've been trying to find them - is it a "System Event + Action" thing or something in the "Project Properties"?

I got used to testing my game full screen and came to love the look of 24fps I was getting - lol, then i made the browser window smaller and my framerate jumped to 60! YUCK! It's an aesthetic thing. 60fps gave my game the "Soap Opera Effect" like you see on HDTVs (ie the "Judder Adjustment").

I'll live with it if I have to, but I'd like to set it at 24fps. (It's a look! lol)

If someone can show me some screenshots of where to play with these settings, that would be super helpful!!! Thanks!

@level1sb - those options are not supported in Construct 2. They were in Classic though.

Thank you for pointed that out Ashley. I didn't realize that from this conversation. It looked like this was a recent discussion, so I just assumed it had to do with C2. I will move on and focus on other things, lol
