  • Angle seems to just affect how the object appears, but not the initial direction if accelerate is applied, how do I actually set the initial direction of a car behavior object in the events?

  • Not sure what you mean here.

The car will move in the way to where the angle is pointing.

E.g. the little line with the square you see in the editor shows you the initial direction, which can be changed by adjusting your sprite (i believe initially its to the right).

I dont know of a way where you could change the angle without it changing the angle of appearance as well, but this can be worked around with using two objects: One for the car behavior and one for the appearance and using the pin-behavior to have it stuck together.

It starts out at 0 angle.

You can change that in the settings angle to any angle.

If you want the car to face at 0 rotate the sprite in the editor until it face right and then it will match what you see when played.

If you are using one sprite and the car behavior set smooth 360 in the behavior settings.

  • Hey Zebbi - how are you using the behavior, are you spawning objects with it or something? You should be able to point your car in any direction and have it move in that direction when accelerating.

Actually, I was using it to float an object around, but I just made it invisible and glued a fixed angled version over the top!

  • Sweet! Hopefully we get to see what you're working on
