This is a bit of a teaser/development tracker for a project that I'm working on with a friend. It's a fantasy RPG starring Chao, the AI pet from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. I just feel I'm not ready for a project page until the release of alpha version 0.1. Developed in Construct 2 r90.

First up are some sprites. Some are in the game at this point in development, or aren't even implemented in-game at all. They may change in the future, graphic wise.

1. Chao statues, 2. Pause button and toggle menu/close current menu buttons, 3: Rust mote (enemy), 4. Potions (empty, HP, MP, both), 5. Test object (currently for testing, will likely serve the function that Chrono Trigger's tab items did), 6. Normal tree growth cycle, 7. Stone brick, floating platforms (gold and silver with rune markings), and a spike hazard

The following are some screenshots. These are taken from the current version in development, which is alpha version 0.1. They are very likely to change, however.

Finally, last but not least is some lineart concept art that's quite new. This is my first attempt at drawing concept art, so the style is likely to change. Suggestions on improving are welcome, and very much appreciated.

I'm following your project, i haven't seen any good rpg game made with Construct 2, so hopefully this one does, good luck!

If your game is purely pixel art, you may want to turning on the pixel rounding and set sampling to point, it'll stop your game from being blured.

Bumping for a good reason! New sprites! Also probably the last before the release of alpha version 0.1.



Left: Normal seed, mana seed, strong seed, reworked tree sprites (including new mana and strong tree sprites), normal fruit, mana fruit, and strong fruit.

This project has been intentionally on hiatus for about a year.
This is mostly because me and Inf3rnal (the head developer) did not want to continue to develop the game until an actual save system existed in C2.

Now, development is back in full swing.

Here's a demo capx, as promised!

Wow this project looks pretty awesome. Being an avid Sonic fan myself whom wishes Chao was featured in the newer Sonic games, this interests me!
