Clicking stacked objects

Get help using Construct 2

Hi there, this is my first time posting so bare with me.
I tried searching for similair issues, but the things I found didnt really help.

Issue:
Background image, with a touch event performing actions.
Image object somewhere on top of the background image with its own actions.
Clicking the image object, also fires the actions from the background, which is undesired.

Desired result: a simple method to disable / stop the touch action after its been used on the top objects actions, preventing actions from objects below it being started aswell.

It seems a minor thing, perhaps I'm overlooking something,

I found a solution in a more sophisticad approach to grouped events after reading this http://www.scirra.com/forum/how-do-i-disable-layer-input_topic76876.html and the suggestion forthe grouping.

thanks
