What if i want to change the player animation to be climbingc while the player on the rope?

climbing the rope

I tried it but it doesn't work

Any ideas?

The player is jumping from one point to another on the rope rather then climbing, I've made it this way, because it was easiest way to do it. Don't just copy&paste it, take my example as a reference, look how it works and rework it to your needs.

@ Noga thats what I am trying to do, reworking on it on my game, but first i am trying to try thinks on an existing game which is platform school, change on it, add or remove till i get what i want.

Is there a way to create a physics joint between the player and the rope and then break it when they jump off the rope? This prototype works well but it doesn't seem to allow the player to interact with the physics of the rope.

I've created a prototype which allows a player to jump on a swinging object on a hing grab it and swing around but I can't break the joint once its connected. I'm sure there's another way to create this relationship between objects but it seems like being able to break a joint would be a handy thing to do.
