Clock Wipe effect

Get help using Construct 2

Post » Mon Sep 22, 2014 5:29 pm

I have a timer that I would like to show using a 'clock effect', something like the transition in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtpXwsmZKxc

When the time is at maximum it will show a perfect circle, 50% time would be half circle and when time finishes nothing shows up.
How can I achieve it without needing lots of frames of animation?

You could try with blendmodes, here's a timer example I've shared previously.

i'm suffering from a flu but hey I felt like writing something from scratch for you.. not perfect but hopefully you can find it useful. the basic functionality is that you create a lot of triangles centred on the point in your layout and you use them to cover everything, then change something, then reveal.. ideally you should use an extra layer but it's not needed... if you need to keep your layers down, just be careful when you're doing your screen generation underneath..

i'm a great believer in simple solutions for maximum portability.. nothing fancy here but i'm sure there a lot of ways to improve things.

I implemented this recently. When I get on my PC I'll upload it unless you have a solution by then.

Thanks guys, I've managed to get it working, Noncentz's capx lead me to a simple solution, I hadn't used blend modes before, seens like that was what I was looking for.
