For questions about using Classic.

If I have a sprite (player) that is in most layouts, but isn't a 'global object', and I edit an animation (or make any other changes) it will still appear the same in all the layouts?
I wouldn't have to edit the sprite in every other layout would I ?

you would only have to if you were editing pv's. Graphic changes and some other stuff change everywhere when you modify the sprite, since they are global to the application (imagine creating an object on an external event sheet, if the two had different gfx on different layouts, then which would be created?). I'm not sure about attributes.

Basically what Davioware said is right - object types are global to the application, so if you have "MySprite" present in 6 layouts, and you change the animations for it in one, it's reflected throughout the application. Anything that can't be set per-instance (like animations, attributes, object name, icon etc) affects all of those objects in all layouts.
