whenever i try to preview my created game i keep getting an error message pop up and says

The page at localhost:5000 says

Javascript error!
Uncaught InvalidStateError: Failed to
execute 'drawImage' on
'CanvasRenderingContext2D': The
HTMLImageElement provided is in the
'broken' state.
http://localhost:5000/preview.js, line 1786 (col 11)

This is likely a bug in Construct 2 or a third
party plugin or behavior - please report it to the developer. Subsequent errors will be logged to the console.

Due to this keep occurring i cannot progress further with my course work, hope this can be fixed soon
thanks Kelvin Barratt

You haven't followed the bug reporting guidelines, which makes it almost impossible for anyone to help.

Do you get the error when previewing every project or only a particular one?

Do you get the error previewing one of the built-in examples?
If your vision so exceeds your ability, then look to something closer.

I managed to reproduce it.... It started happening when I renamed the project file.

It only happens with Chrome for me, so not a bug on Construct 2's part. If you are having the same problem and reading this since it's been closed like me. Do what Ashley suggested and preview using a different browser and it should work.
