The Art of Game Design is an amazing book about game design! I've bought a copy and am working my way through it and I can say confidently it is an excellent book.

    <font size="3">The Competition</font>

Design a game in Construct 2 with the 'Space' theme. Both early-adopters and free license users are free to enter the competition. You are of course allowed to use the Space Blaster sprites if you wish!

Your game must involve 'Space' in some way (as in, outer space!). Everyone is allowed to submit up to 3 entries.

    <font size="3">How To Enter</font>

To submit a game, simply reply to this post with:

    a) The name of the game

    b) A URL to play the game (read how to upload your game to dropbox for free!)

    c) Your country of residence

Everyone is allowed to enter the competition. Do not post any links to games which are works in progress! Only completed entries should be posted.

CLOSING DATE IS 27TH OCTOBER AT 12 NOON LONDON TIME! ANY ENTRIES POSTED AFTER THIS TIME COULD BE REJECTED!

    <font size="3">Judging</font>

Me and Ash will be judging all the entries.

    <font size="3">Good luck!</font>

Good luck! We look forward to playing your games :)

    <font size="3">Small Print</font>

The book "The Art of Game Design" will be shipped from Amazon to your home address. The voucher for the 1st place winner will be emailed to them. The currency of the voucher will be provided in your equivalent native currency. Other items of roughly equal value will be provided as a prize if you are unable to receive any of the prizes.

MINIMUM 5 ENTRIES FROM DIFFERENT PEOPLE MUST BE RECEIVED OTHERWISE PRIZES WILL GO TO THE NEXT COMPETITION

Scirra's decision is final and should be respected. It's just meant to be a bit of fun :)

  • Not on this one sorry! But that's a good idea :)

  • Count me in! \o/

*also a trophy in the avatar for the winners would be awesome!

  • Congratulations Scirra! [<:o)]

Love the competition! I'll try to submit a entry :)

  • Ohhhh man, I'd LOVE to do this. But between the game I'm already making and schoolwork... <img src="smileys/smiley5.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • I'll see if I can get a trophy for the winner but I can't promise this I'm afraid!

  • Awesome, I'm down.

  • I'll see if I can get a trophy for the winner but I can't promise this I'm afraid!

At worse a line in the profile maybe ? (/users/name_of_user)

  • I can't wait to see the roster of submissions once the contest comes to a close. There's some real talent on these forums!

  • I bet it's going to be fun!   <img src="smileys/smiley20.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • I may have a go at this....

  • Sounds awsome to me....let the games begin....no pun intended lol!!!

  • I'd like to enter, sounds like fun, but the game I am already making, plus schoolwork... maybe next time! ;)

  • Hm, a good opportunity to whip something together and get back into the "groove".
