Construct 2 for Xbox One

Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

Well it loads my game and the menus work.
No sound but thats probably my fault for removing all but the .ogg files.
My game doesnt have controller support so i am not sure whether it would play if it did.

@spongehammer

Hey, could you test mine? I'm pretty sure the gamepad won't work, though..

It's at http://dreamingsarah.com/html5

@andreyin

Hi. I can load the game but there is no sound or music. I can move the character using the dpad but none of the other buttons work and i cannot assign them in the control setup.

@spongehammer

Whoa, seriously? I haven't even programmed the d-pad to work in my game (only the analog)... maybe it's translating the analog to be a dpad? Really weird, but at least it's something!

Thanks a lot for trying it out. How was the FPS?

Hard to tell really.. seemed ok. I could see the seams in the landscape though.

I would love to see official Xbox One support. Just became an official Wii U developer a few months ago and Construct 2 plays nice with the dev kits. Many features are left out until we get official support though.

It should be possible as you need to make your game in visual studio and the software on the XO is essentially windows 8. However, often times with consoles there is a stripped down version. At least that was the case for the XBOX 360. If you made a .NET game you had to deal with a compact .NET framework on the XBOX. What would happen is that your game would run on the computer but as soon as you deployed it to the XBOX errors would show up.

It's too early to tell. Once the ID SDKs are released we should get a better idea as to the full capabilities.
