Construct 2 Mobile

Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

Post » Mon Jan 11, 2016 4:50 pm

There are all good points, I wasn't aware of the touch issues on C2. Still a companion app would be great. Just my personal point of view. I consider myself very productive with my phone, I'm a store manager and I need to work on spreadsheets, emails, and reports.
@glerikud I'm running windows 10 on my lumia Icon, and I can do all those without touching my laptop. Ive been doing so many times that's easy for me to work on 5" screens now I guess, but you have a very good point, software development might not be the best thing to do on a phone :P. You guys seem very knowledgeable about all this, thanks for the info

You use Raspberry Pi? I sure as hell don't lol.. I wouldn't buy one of those things if my life depended on it.

Being that I've tested these two products. Both tablets that I've listed ran Construct 2 perfectly, so it doesn't hurt to take someone's word of review on a product.

Both Space Blaster and Ghost Demo ran at 60fps running on Windows 10 using Microsoft Edge on the Nextbook Flex tablet.

Walmart has a 15 day refund policy for tablets if you don't like it, so it doesn't hurt to buy and try it out and return it later if it's not your thing.

Windows 10 Iot on the Pi2 is a stripped down version.
Ashley had a few tweets about getting C2 games to run on it.
So yeah it's probably going to be viable for mobile, and not so mobile.
It's a huge implication for anyone who wants to make arcade cabinets.

Ive heard of the raspberry pi, but never actually gotten my hands on it, about the stick, still needs a screen, and of course mouse n keyboard. I just tried the mirror option mentioned earlier, n it works like a charm!!! I have a logitech bluetooth mouse, super thin n small that fits on my pocket like it wasnt there. Paired it with my phone, and bingo!! Of course not as easily to interact as it was my book, but damn it works for my purposes!!!

@KazaaMafia I own the surface pro 3, and the surface book, but none of them fit in my pocket. I meant it as in an app version, a mobile as in phone, you know, pocket. But your small tablet comment is not a bad idea

I just couldn't imagine trying to use the events system on my cell phone. That would be annoying for me... just saying.

And so its is happening

Like other people said, you can get a cheap Windows tablet, use Team Viewer or have C2 on a stick and continue your work on any PC.
Also I seriously doubt you can do anything productive on a <5" screen.

Am so glad that stupid idea and waste of resources are becoming a reality :D

Anyone who does not think you can do something productive on a <5" screen isn't thinking outside the box. Is it ideal? Nah, but it is great depending on the circumstances

@humanescape you are exactly right, it might not be the ideal enviroment, but sure does help, like replying to an email on ur phone, limited screen and not all the things you might be able to do on your pc, but still gives you that edge of being able to respond to it quickly and on the go. Same principle with now C3.

And remember people, a smartphone is just as smart as the person using it. Keep that in mind 😉
