I heard that the (game) engine will not changed before, only rebuilt whole of IDE.

My idea would not change the game engine, and it explains the overly long development time.

I think you may be being trivial calling it a re-skin. From what we know it's being rewritten to work on multiple os and with new features.

Who are you to say that it should take x amount of time and no more?

Lol, it was a suggestion. They never gave me any indication whether they actually took it or not.

(lol sorry, couldn't stop myself. Just joking around :P)

I didn't call it that. Ashley did.

I don't check the forums much anymore, but I will receive an email for PMs.

I don't recall ever calling it a mere re-skin. We are rebuilding the entire editor from scratch.

We'll have more news when we're ready to announce it. Until then sorry, you'll just have to be patient!

@Ashley you should be "self hosting" it - make c3 with c2 - that would have been meta

Hey @Ashley - Got a question -

With the Construct 3 editor be rewritten from scratch will there be a "multi-layout editor" or similar in C3?
I am asking as I deal with very large layouts (Scenes/Maps) on a daily basis in other engines and I need a way to deal with them elegantly in Construct 3.

I can provide examples if needs be to show what I mean.

Thank you for your time,

I run C2 inside a VM on my Mac with no problems at all.

Let's give the Scirra team time to make this the best possible experience for newcomers and experienced Construct product users alike... Patience is key to development, so let's try to exercise the same practice people :)

it will be way better if we wouldnt have to use the VM, i use one too and its really slows the development process
