Construct 3 any news?

Post » Sun Jan 01, 2017 8:32 am

@gamecorpstudio
I suppose there are many people who want to work in linux or mac and are waiting anxiously to Construct 3

And we also want to know what new things and improvements will bring Construct 3.

example: the GMS2 AutoTiling, is fantastic, Scirra should copy that ;)

It is simply normal to want to have significant improvements that make things easier :)

@ashley posted news on construct 3 in his blog:
https://www.scirra.com/blog/ashley/31/2 ... technology

The news was that there is no news, but development is going well

When's Construct 3 out?
Sorry! We still have no news to announce just yet. However Construct 3 development is going very well and we can't wait to share what we're building! Sign up at Construct3.com to be first to hear any news.

Interally our priority for most of 2016 has been Construct 3 development, which has slowed Construct 2 development somewhat. We've still been doing lots of work on C2 though as the release history shows.

I tried to looking for a Select All command to select all instances of an object in the editor, but I was surprised that there isn't this ability. Can we get this in C3 if not C2?

edit: seems like I encountered a bug that prevents the editor from functioning correctly.

CTRL+A doesn't work for you?

What about this?

@fuego96 , that doesn't select all instances of an object in the editor.

Clicking on the object in the object bar should pick all its instances. I use it all the time.

@R0J0hound , I thought that was the case- but it wasn't working. I restarted Construct2 and it worked.. So I guess there is some bug somewhere that stops the editor from functioning correctly. I also noticed some other strange things like not being able to change properties of objects. I have no idea on how to reproduce the bug though- I have encountered it several times in the past.

Because the C2 editor has some technical limitations and Scirra does a whole rewrite for the complete editor. It will allow them and the community to implement advanced functions.

You'll have to buy a license for C3 as well, but as an existing C2 owner you'll get a discount. We don't have any more details now.
