Construct 3 on iOS 11 beta 2?

Post » Thu Jun 22, 2017 10:06 am

They've just updated their Safari with experimental features. Any of these useful for C3? Any hope of getting the dream team iPad pro together with the godlike Construct 3?

We're still not ready to support other browsers just yet, but we're keen to. The key points for other browsers are full CSS grid support, the dialog element and CSS containment.

@Ashley One of which is down apparently. Two to go. I wrote in the apple forums about it but they seem dead on the topic.

What if it's possible to release an app with a barebones browser on the appstore? Sounds like people would go insane for that :)

Apple specifically ban other browser engines, which means Chrome for iOS is just a skin over Safari, which is precisely what has caused this situation.

Why not provide an iap for construct 3 or a modified true chrome version for manual installation instead of going through apples system?

@Ashley I found an entire petition to let other competing browsers into the apple ecosystem but so far no results.

I've been following the situation closely since I tried my first iOS app using Construct2. It's a sad situation for us here and the potential is great if they ever fix their approach to this, but meanwhile I feel that I could do more to push it towards it happening sooner.

C3 for iOS11 warrior at your service :)

This is something Apple specifically ban. Safari is the only browser engine allowed on iOS.

@ishmaelmoreno I don't know, haven't tried it at all. There's a public beta out now you can try it out that way.
