The Apple IIe runtime will be done right after the runtime for Toasters and Microwaves.

Was there any need for deadeyes post? Seems to derail what i asked for completely when i am asking something legitimate since a lot of people use Linux. :(

Well in all seriousness we will be looking at Linux ports, that's the logical next step once we have a runtime running SDL. And I guess you're right, much better to have it running natively than through emulators. That's not a trivial thing to achieve though so it may wait until after 1.0 - there may be significant changes to the runtime before then, anyway, and having multiple platforms to maintain would make this an extra burden of work.

Well i would just like to thank you for actually considering it :).

I agree it would be a lot more work for you to initially maintaine ports since the engine is still undergoing quite some work.

Running through an emulator is nice since it would have it working, but it will be slow, upset a lot of people, will get more people to bug you to do a native one, etc etc.

Many thanks.

I wasn't being sarcastic, I was being sardonic. "No offense," but your previous post seemed rather lacking in regard for Ashley's hard work.

See now, that's much more understanding

Actually i was pointing out something Ashley may have not known since he has said before he does not have Linux.

[quote:1fj0rux3]
Wine is a lot slower than native for obvious reasons, it is ugly when using, crashes frequently, wine updates can easily break compatiblity with construct etc etc.

I dont see how i am "lacking regard" for his work, his work is brilliant.
