Cool features in SpriteKit

Post » Mon Jun 19, 2017 2:12 pm

So I was playing around with SpriteKit's tile map editor and it has some really cool features that I think would be a great addition to C3. They have isometric tiles maps and hexagon tile maps built right in. It's actually pretty cool and I don't know of any other engine that does this.

Just a thought.

Very cool idea! I love the idea of easily setting up both isometric and hex tiles. They are both more interesting to me than x-y orthogonal tiles.

I was surprised to see that it was actually a feature. It makes sense because there have been some really popular games that use the hexagon tile system like Hoplite.

I am all for hexagons. Rexrainbow has addins for hexagonal movement and path finding, but there is no
editor.

No idea how that would go down at HQ, but if you're serious about this as a suggestion, you'll be better off posting it on our suggestions platform (if it's not there already.)

And please read the guidelines before you post :)
